30 Days Without Fast Food

30 Days Without Fast Food

If you know me and know me well, you will know that fast food is my weakness. I love cheese sticks and tater tots from Sonic, Cookies-n-Cream shakes from Chick-Fil-A, the mashed potato bowl from KFC, a chicken club sandwich with mayo instead of ranch from Jack, chicken nuggets from McDonalds, the #5 with no onions, mustard, or tomatoes with mayo, on toasted Texas Toast with a Coke and a side of gravy from Whataburger, and some crunchy Tacos Supreme from Taco Bell. I am very transparent. I like to eat bad, very bad.

I recently started a few self care regimens that include drinking more water, taking an oral collagen for my face and will begin taking dietary supplements TODAY to assist with my weight control all while increasing my levels of physical activity. I know that there is no magic pill but I am all for trying anything that can help me feel and look better.

I want to push myself a little more just like I did with M&Ms. I rarely eat them anymore so I am taking on something else. I want to give up fast food for 30 days! My rules are very clear. If it has a drive-thru I can NOT eat it. This does not include sit down restaurants but that does not mean I can eat at those places everyday either!! My goal is to have at least 75-80% of my meals come from home. I am proud to announce that today is DAY 2 and that I have not given in.

What am I hoping to gain???

1. Reduced self indulgence- I have very little self control. I realized that most days I was going by the motto of "live to eat, not eat to live." I regularly eat all my feelings. I  really want to push myself to say "No" and drive right past the fast food joints without giving them a second thought.

2. Become a master chef- Ha! Who am I kidding? I do want to try to cook more things though. Fast food has made me lazy! Why cook? I can just pick something up and it will always taste better than what I make. I want to try a few new things and up my cooking game for sure!

3. Increased activity. FAST FOOD slows me down. After I eat my favorite combo, I often want to take a nap. I am hoping to have more energy to do more things including GASP!! EXERCISE!!!

4. More MONEY in the bank!!!! $$$$$$ All those meals add up! I would rather use that money for makeup, clothes, accessories from Ooh La La , fun times with my family/friends, and travel.

5. Better appearance- Eventually the clothes will fit better. A big thing for me is my skin! We show what we eat! I want fabulous skin and hair.

6. Enhanced brain function-Ditching the junk food may protect my brain cells and improve my overall function! I can use all the brain cells I can get. Watch out world! Here I come!

7. Be a better role model for my GIRLS- I have three little people that look to me for guidance. I want to inspire and motivate them. I want to be a good role model for them. I want to teach them a new norm!

8. Be the BEST version of me! SEE BELOW

9. Be a HAPPIER ME- Fast food gives me short term happiness but it can lead to illness and fat gain which often makes me feel miserable in the long run. Eating less processed foods will also improve my mood and will improve my overall nutrition allowing me to feel happier.

10. Be a better WELL rested ME! Cutting back on trans fats and sugars may help my sleeping. Who does not want to get more restful sleep and feel refreshed? Call me Sleeping Beauty!

I have 29 more days to go! I hope my challenge inspires some of you to do thing that pushes you!
